The 44th session of the World Heritage Committee, Fuzhou (China)/online meeting), was held from 16 to 31 July 2021.

At its annual session, the World Heritage Committee makes decisions on whether a property will be inscribed on the World Heritage List. It also examines reports on the state of conservation of inscribed properties and asks States Parties to take action when properties are not being properly managed. The Committee also decides on the inscription on or removal of properties from the List of World Heritage in Danger.

This issue of World Heritage presents the stunning variety of cultural and natural sites in China. Approaches used in managing this vast array of heritage will be considered, such as case studies and educational activities.
